Epson Stylus 1200 Printer XP Driver

Upgraded to Xp and small town geekster that did it says this printer can't run on XP and wants to make another hardware sale. This baby is an oldie but a goldie and I want to prove him wrong. He also 'lost' my installation disks... So now I don't even have my old installation disks to install on another computer if XP bombs.
Can anyone help me out here - this just seems too crazy and I'm way over it.

Just a thought - if anyone could steer me towards a forum or discussion group that might have someone who could help, I'd appreciate the urls.
It may be true that this won't work with XP - but I want to dig a little deeper before I give up - especially since he lost the installation disks. Anyone know what's best to do when you've lost them? I have an email into Epson but no reply yet. Seeking quicker alternative.
