Description for HP iPAQ h5150 Firmware:
HP iPAQ Pocket PC h5100 Series Firmware Update
This XIP update is designed to replace the Miscellaneous OEM region of the ROM image. It is important to read and understand the information in the Readme.txt file included with this update BEFORE installing this SoftPaq.
Fixes
Corrects the following problems by updating the Bluetooth Driver to Version 1.4.1.60:
Corrects issue where the system stopped responding when disconnecting a PAN connection using the Incoming Connection icon.
Corrects issue that caused the handheld to require a normal reset if the handheld was Powered Off during the transfer of data using SPP. For example, if the handheld was POwered Off while the it was connected to a Bluetooth GPS device.
Corrects issue where the proxy settings were erased in the Bluetooth settings.
Corrects issue where the "Dial via Bluetooth" option did not accept spaces in a the phone number.
Corrects issue where the handheld did not "wake up" to perform a scheduled iPAQ backup.
Corrects issue where the Dual-Slot PC Card Expansion Pack fails to initialize after a soft reset when two PCMCIA cards are installed.
Corrects the following issues with the SDIO Driver:
Corrects issue where some SDIO cards were not recognize after Suspend/Resume or soft reset.
Corrects issue where the handheld did not enter Suspend mode if select SDIO cards were present.
Corrects issue where some SDIO cards continued to draw power while in Suspend mode.
Corrects issue with the state of the serial DTR signal line after Suspend/Resume.
Corrects issue where open files on a storage card could not be accessed after Suspend/Resume.
Enhancements
Updates IPSM to Version 3614.3212.
Updates iTask to Version 2.16.
Updates the iPAQ Image Viewer to Version 2.12b.

Installation
HOW TO USE:
- Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
- Establish an Activesync connection between the iPAQ Pocket PC and host PC using either a USB or Serial connection.
- Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
- If the Regional Settings are changed to any language other than the default language of the handheld, the Firmware update will not complete and generate the following error message: "This update is language specific. Please visit the HP website to verify that you have downloaded the correct update.
- IMPORTANT: Please observe the following restrictions:
- Do not enable the handheld password feature during the update process.
- Do not attempt to Power Off or restart the handheld while the update is in progress.
- Do not enable "Show information when device is turned on" feature during the update process. To disable this feature, click "Owner" on the Today screen and uncheck the box at the bottom of the page, then click the Notes tab at the bottom of the page and uncheck "Show information when device is turned on," which is located at the bottom of the page.
- After applying a firmware (ROM) update, do not attempt to restore a backup that was made before the ROM update was installed.
- IMPORTANT: Disable the Standby and Hibernation modes on the host PC. If Standby or Hibernation mode is activated during the upgrade process, a critical error may occur.
- IMPORTANT: Plan enough time to complete the update process. The total time to perform the firmware update is estimated to be as follows:
- For USB connection - 10 minutes
- For Serial connection - 20 minutes
- IMPORTANT: Do not interact with the handheld or remove it from AC power or from the cradle/cable once the hourglass appears on the handheld and the actual firmware update has started.
- If an error message is displayed during the update process, follow any available instructions to correct the condition and start the update again.
- The update process can be performed while connected to a host PC either as a Guest or with an established partnership.
NOTE: This XIP firmware update does not change the ROM version. To confirm that the XIP firmware update was successful, check the versions of the individual components by clicking Start, Settings, System, and Asset Viewer or by opening each individual application and checking the version number. If the update was successful, applications will show version numbers,
as follows:
