Description for ASUS P505 Firmware:
P505 English ROM update V3.09.71
P505 ROM, boot code and phone firmware update procedure.
***Please use Active Sync to backup your personal data (Due to smart keeper can't restore in difference ROM version)
Unzip the "ROM Image" to SD card
To update Boot Code:
Press/Hold Record button + Camera button + VR button and then press Reset button at the same time.
1. Flashing ROM image to Flash Memory (You can see useful information on the screen)
2. System reboot. (If system doesn't reboot automatically, reboot the system manually.)
Update ROM image
1. Plug-in AC adapter into P505 unit (Make sure power is enough to update ROM image)
2. Prepare SD card (64MB recommended)
3. Format SD card (via Notebook PC or SD card reader)
4. Copy P505.nb0 or Boot505.nb0 to SD root directory (via Notebook PC or SD card reader)
5. Insert SD card into P505 built-in SD slot
6. To update ROM Image:
Press/Hold Camera button + VR button and then press Reset button at the same
time and wait the update information.(around one minute)
After performing the ROM image update, please cold boot your P505
device again to make sure that all updates is successful and image on the device can
boot properly.
Please check the PDA language,
Please note the software version to have matches the rule, after update ROM please to confirm whether your version like following.

Improve:
1. Solve close Keypad might happen fail to power up issue.
2. Improve camera function
3. Add MP3 ringtone (support mp3,mid,mmf, wma, wav)
4. Modify Audio setting such that [Treble] allowable range is extended from [0:3] to [0:15]
After above, you can update phone firmware.
1.Unzip the "PhoneFirmware zip" to SD card
2.Insert the SD card into P505, use File Explorer to execute the GEM02Tool.exe
3.Please choose"tools->update firmware->flash only".
4.After the Firmware update is finished, the GEM02Tool.exe will request a reboot, just press OK.
5.After reboot, go to Settings->System->System Information->Version to see if the Firmware version is v.4.3.0.
If not, remove the battery, and plug-in the battery again, to do a software reset, and then check the Firmware version once more.
(Start/settings/system/system Information/Version)
6.Please press do the Hardware reset (Press+hold power boutton +resert)
This should be OK.
